Hi all, I acquired this set of Brembo take offs from Shelby. They came with brake lines attached that look much different from the lines on my GT. Which should I use? Any help much appreciated.

This is the existing GT line.

Things you will need.
Performance pack 15" rotors and dust shield's
Go to the Ford parts web site and look up the Brembo brake line part numbers and see if they match with what came on the calipers.
You can not use the GT splash shields. Your GT brake's draw cooling air from the front side of the rotor.
PP Brembo's draw cooling air from the back side of the rotor.
DO NOT SKIP the bedding in procedure!!!

PP1 brakes are not the same thing as takeoffs from a Shelby.

GT350 brakes are not a direct swap to a GT as are the PP1 brakes. You need a custom adapter to make those work.

But your OEM lines will work with the GT350 calipers, so just reuse those.

Thanks fellas. After looking closely, I believe that these are PP1 calipers from a Magneride equipped vehicle. Magneride appears to get a different brake line. I’ll go ahead and reuse my existing lines.

Will 350 calipers and rotors fit with pp1 wheels?

What is that procedure? I may have already messed up if I did it incorrectly. (Though everything seems amazing. No noise at all compared to OEM 2 - piston setup.)

Once bedded in the brakes are excellent! Ford nailed the brakes on this car. Great control with light braking and then progressively harder as you push down. They reel my car in from mid triple digit speeds 150+ down to 45mph and have never warped. No reason to go to GT350 brakes.

you might want the PP1 reservoir too as I suspect that has something to do with it but correct me if I’m wrong

Nope, you can use base master cylinder. I am and braking is fine.

What is proper bedding procedure for the PP1 brakes?

You for sure can, but they have different part numbers so I suspect the PP1 MC has a different pressure ramp rate

I found the bedding procedure on this site. Don’t remember it. But I had some shimmy when I bought the car at6k miles. Cleaned rotors real good, did bedding procedure, good to go now.

Well I have no shimmy, noise, or issues with brakes (they work crazy amazing) so I bet I did bedding fine (followed the powerstop brakes bedding procedure even though these are OEM pads not powerstop.

The PP1 master cylinder has a slightly larger diameter pipe if I remember correctly, and that is about it. (And it costs up to $1k for a shop to do or about 2 days of your weekend with a friend, for those who want to know. Cali prices are wack…)

Brembo Recommended brake pad bedding procedure,
Perform at least 20 brake applications using medium deceleration (approximately 60% of maximum) starting from 60mph and slowing to 20mph. Do not come to a stop. Accelerate back to the starting speed allowing 20-30 seconds before beginning the next brake application. After completion, drive the vehicle for at least 5 minutes with little or no braking in order to adequately cool the components.

When it can be done legally, or on a closed circuit, a secondary bedding operation is beneficial.
Repeat the above procedure for 5 to 10 brake applications increasing the starting speed to 80mph and increasing the deceleration rate to 80% of maximum. After completion, drive the vehicle for at least 10 minutes with little or no braking in order to adequately cool the components. The system is now ready for normal use.

I went from Baer Brakes which were total garbo (don't know what I was thinking) to 6-Piston PP1 brakes on my Premium. Probably the best mod other than the Blower and fuel system.

Once day I'll change to the rear GT350 knuckles in the back so I can get some real Brembo calipers in the rear.

Using the stock GT heat shields is blocking and killing the cooling efficiency for the 6 piston Brembo brakes. The PP1 brake dust shields direct the cooling air to the back side of the rotors.

2 days?

1. Exactly how much beer do you drink when you do car work?
2. Do you need any help on the next change?
