I can't believe these #s will stand. The ATS-V sedan ran:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.9 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 8.4 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 13.9 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 19.8 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.7 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.4 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 3.2 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.1 sec @ 122 mph

Can't imagine the mustang will be slower than a sedan with 60+ less ponies. As a note the Caddy isn't suppose to be a quarter mile queen either.

Who said the R will be slower than the new Z/28? Is there even a new Z/28 to speak of yet? And since you're projecting here, what's your projected cost of the new Z/28 (using the 14 Z/28 as a benchmark)?

I don't think Chevy would make the same mistake again with the Z28 pricing. There are current-gen cars sitting on lots that are being heavily discounted.

It is the benefit of coming out a year after your competition. While both of these cars have been in development for years GM had the ability to bench mark and make changes against a production S550 Mustang before launch.

Better straight line performance better than a Scat Pack Challenger - Check
Lighter weight and better handling than a Mustang - Check
And the cycle continues.

Mustang wins, camaro wins, mustang wins, etc.

Ford is launched the s550 soft though in terms of performance. On purpose.

The new design would sell.

Next, performance will be the selling point.

Not to be negative but MT typically gets the best times out of Mustangs of the major auto publications. They were the ones who tested the S197 5.0 at 4.3 and 12.7 and the S550 GT at 4.4 and 12.8.

That being said I don't doubt many of you will be able to get better times out of the GT 350 just like many people have done with the GTs over the years.
Not another one of these guys. All magazines turn ass 1/4 times for all cars.

Did you read my whole post? I said out of the major automotive publications. I am well aware that 90% of Mustang owners think they can get more out of their cars than the mags. All I was pointing out was that all the folks that are saying " Motor Trend sucks let's wait for the other mags" might be disappointed based on past history.

Did you read my whole post? I said out of the major automotive publications. I am well aware that 90% of Mustang owners think they can get more out of their cars than the mags. All I was pointing out was that all the folks that are saying " Motor Trend sucks let's wait for the other mags" might be disappointed based on past history.
I wouldnt have responded had i not read it all. I also said magazine times as a whole for 1/4 mile are garbage for any magazine.

Why is MT the only one to have released any numbers? Surely other mags have tested? I'm also assuming any embargo has been lifted?

Im a little confused...it sounds like the test was from a VBox, not the actual 1/4 mile..

If those are the numbers, the GT350/R is as quick as the F8X cars...which I find disappointing..

Lets see some more tests..

I feel the tall gearing in the gear box is hurting the car, most cars that rev to the moon ala E9X M3 have very short gearing. My 1st gear in the M3 is a 4.055:1 with a 3.85:1 final drive.

I hope those numbers are wrong. Those cars are way too expensive and hyped up to have numbers that are no better then a standard 2016 Camaro SS. The 350 GT is only a tad faster then my '15 GT with over 100 horsepower more. Something isn't adding up.
