When you think about it , road courses are various length dragstrips from corner to corner. So going up through the gears and expecting great acceleration is essential.
No, a road course is more like a 30+mph roll-on race between corners, and nobody yet has seen any figures about the GT350's performance from a roll.

It doesn't look like the Cubs will win either. Back to the future.

I still think we will see some high 11 sec. passes with these cars in the 119+mph range soon. The MT test was not an official test and I do believe MM&FF will get Evan Smith to rip off a solid 11 sec. pass. As well as some folks who know how to drive.

This, and they should pick up some power in cooler air and and on 93 octane.

Unfortunately MT was the first to post any kind of numbers and the casual car fan won't look any further into it.

Kinda like how the 1LE beat the s550 in it's first review, yet the s550 went on to win every other comparison by other magazines, only that loss to the 1LE ever gets mentioned.

And you know, this may have been discussed elsewhere, but I find it odd that MT is the only place to post numbers. Particularly with all the buzz over this car.

Quicker than the z/28 and trapped higher (12.1 @119 > 12.3 @116). What does it cost again? Nothing to be disappointed about IMO. These aren't even the #'s it is supposed to shine in. Now let's get some lap times..
This makes things really interesting....

"With more horsepower and a curb weight down 214 pounds from the last Camaro SS we tested, the new 2016 Camaro SS put down some frighteningly quick numbers at the track. The acceleration run from 0 to 60 mph took just 4.0 seconds, and the quarter mile was through in 12.4 seconds at 114.6 mph. That's not only faster than the last Camaro SS 1LE we tested, but it also hangs with the 505-hp, 7.0-liter V-8-powered Camaro Z/28. A 2015 Camaro SS 1LE needed 4.4 seconds to hit 60 mph and 12.9 seconds to complete the quarter mile at 110.5 mph; the big, bad Z/28 also did 0-60 in 4 seconds flat and finished the quarter a nose before the 2016 Camaro SS in 12.3 seconds at 116.1 mph. The new Camaro SS has brakes, too; the standard Brembo stoppers brought the Chevy to a standstill in 104 feet from 60 mph." -Motortrend

Why? All that it shows is that the Camaro is more set up to launch. It's 5MPH slower in trap speed than the R and 3MPH slower than the standard 350. Let's wait for numbers from someone other than motor trend to speculate on. They're always very biased toward GM, you can see it in everything that they do.

For example, they brought the highest dynoing LS7 that I've ever seen to the dyno shootout between the Z28, the 350, and the 350R. It just so happened to make the exact power number as the 350R. On 91 octane, I guess that could be so, but that's the first time I've ever seen a stock LS7 make 470whp+. They're normally 440-460. All dynos are different, but that just seems suspicious considering MT's history of favoritism.
