Crap, my bad. I hadn't watched the video or looked at the site in awhile. I should've double checked that before commenting...

I've driven with BMW's on the 3 series. Washed out with prescription sunglasses (polarized) so the HUD was worthless to me in daylight. Haven't seen the one on the C7 so not sure what GM's latest & greatest looks like.

Would specifically trade in my 2015 for the new model with HUD.

After some thought, I voted no. I have some experience with much more sophisticated HUDs in military jet fighters, so I got spoiled. In some ways, car HUD is a little better than nothing or looking down to the panel. Trouble is car HUD isn't focused at infinity, like the jets; and probably never will be for liability reasons. The cost of something like a military system is probably still way out of line for cars, too.
Someday it will be better, but having tried it in Corvettes, I can get along without it just fine for now. I just feel the cost isn't justified by the utility yet, perceptions aside..

For military situational awareness, a HUD is a lifesaver. But only with the best system, coupled with a very well trained operator.
For most drivers, the HUD is a distraction, and we don't need more distracted drivers.

Test drove a 335 with one and I'd love to have it, nav instructions, speed, rpm, cool stuff.

I'd love a HUD. My brother used to have a 93 Bonneville years ago and even that had it. I'm surpised how well loaded with features that car was.
