I would imagine that's a lot cheaper than whatever it would cost to get a HUD system properly installed in the car -- not just a thing stuck up on top of your dash with suction cups, but actually getting your entire dash taken out and the HUD and virtual touch sensors installed inside the dash and then getting the dash custom cut and refinished.

The Navdy is only 299 (introductory offer, 499 normal price). It's the google glass that's so expensive. I'd prefer the Navdy over the google glass just because I don't want the glasses in my face all the time.

I agree with wanting HUD. I feel naked without it. :)

Having had it on my C5, C6 and now C7 I am completely spoiled and when I move to the other cars there is a learning curve to look back down at the dash.

All I need now is a monster soda and the floating chairs like in Wall-E. :D

I understand that the Navdy is only $299, but that's for the bulky thing you have to stick on top of the dashboard. If you want to do it properly -- take out the entire dashboard and all of the interior to the firewall, cut out a customized hole in the dashtop for the unit to be installed, build a new mounting block on the inside of the center stack or behind the instrument panel for it, hardwire it into the SYNC system, get new custom leather work to finish the dash top and hide the edges of the hole in the dashtop where the unit went -- that's going to cost you thousands of dollars.

If I can talk the wife into it, I think I may order the Navdy before the price goes up. That way I can try it out and see how my field of vision is (or isn't) affected and how good or bad it looks sitting atop the dash to me. If I end up not liking it, I don't think I'll have a problem selling it for at least what I paid for it.

This is pretty cool as it's a real HUD design, Navdy that is, but I think I would much prefer one that projects it onto the windshield.
