Why does everyone always go to roll racing? Never seen a drag race start at 40
That's what more people do. It's an easier example.

If you want to go from a dig the centrifugal is going to need a converter etc to compete and that just gets more compliated

I get it, you're defending your choice. But the ESS is about half the cost so that alone is enough for me. Again, low end torque is what kills your drivetrain. That seat pushback feeling is nice though!
I'm not "defending a choice", I'm stating the difference. I've had two whipple cars, and two vortech/paxton cars.

I'm not worried about the drivetrain, I don't understand that argument.

The ESS is definitely cheaper. And all in all the cars are going to end up being pretty similar in speed at the same boost levels.

It's only half the price if you compare two things that are not meant to be compared To eachother, if you compare a G3X or G4 they are going to be much more similar in price

I don't see that when pricing out systems. Whipple is 12-15k. VMP 10-15 (Loki or Odin). ESS 5-7k. So ya, options matter, but there's no denying that any ESS option (G3X or below) will be less than Whipple/VMP. I think the Roush kit is under 10k, so that would be close.

I don't want the extreme boost with the G4...would like to keep my engine intact if possible. (650-700rwhp)

I overlaid an ESS and Whipple car that made similar peak HP just for an example

Remember when you are RACING you don't care about anything under 5k

Where are you getting 12-15k? A complete stage 2 whipple kit is like $9,500, and VMP was recently on sale for $8k

Yeah, you comparing a G2 on pump 91 with the biggest pulley to a whipple, no kidding the whipple will be faster for twice the cost. Now use an actual comparable supercharger at the same boost level to account for the efficiency of a centrifugal and you'll see vastly different results

I'm comparing two base kits on pump gas that made similar peak HP

This is just to compare the power curves

There is only about 25 ft-lb difference in the RPM ranges that matter

I have to wonder which model of each brand? The Whipple definitely shows a stronger curve

What about the Whipple for an 18+? The 10-15k price is with install/tune.

I feel like some people aren’t being honest about the costs.
Agreed, or they are just adding unneeded options, I am easily $8k not including fuel system for my ESS G3, and did everything myself except tune. The little things the ESS does not include really add up.
