The S650 is actually growing on me. I still do not like the big screens but hoping they change something with that in the next few years.. the exterior has grown on me though, seeing them lowered with wheels.

I am debating on getting an Auto S650 and boosting it or F150 and boosting it, very different I know but the truck would be cool to have with the kids, but an auto would be nice and then my GF can cruise with me to meets/shows, since she is intimidated by the manual, lol.

I'm glad some like it, I'd hate to see mustang go away.

I was at my Ford dealership getting the Shelby GT350 serviced and spotted a Dark Horse in the show room. There were some things I really liked about it, others not so much. The front end should have been used during the 2018 s550 refresh. It is the best feature of the new body design. From the back I get the narrow tail lights being a nod to the old school fast backs, but I don't think it works on the modern design.
The interior feels more upscale, but the lack of tactile knobs, buttons, and switches for often used controls really bothered me. Everything is stuck in those ipad screen displays.
The seats were pretty comfortable.
Not sure if I like the dark horse logo/badging.. just kind of meh.. maybe it's the size and placement.
Overall for the price I would not desire to own one of these. For 15k less I'll keep my Shelby.

Side just looks way too Camaro for my tastes. Seems like it was a "we must do SOMETHING" move that really didn't work out, like so many other "we must do SOMETHING" moves....

The tail lights are weird to me too, looking forward to a mid cycle refresh to see what ford does with them. The rest of the car I’m ok with, including the “iPad on the dash” so many complain about. As a BMW tech, I see that all day every day and it’s fine.
No. It's not fine.

Everything they did on the outside seems Camaro inspired...single two section hood vent in middle? Check. Remove accent lines on side except for a prominent lower one? Check. Body color rear trunk panel? Check. Thin headlights? Check. Camaro bumper? Check. Then throw in some Honda and Hyundai inspiration for the front grill area and rear lights and we get S650. Guess it might make sense trying to lure Camaro owners. Why couldn't we grab useful things like their PDR, heads up, and chassis work. Oh and we also now have air vents blowing on our shifting hand like Camaro so I guess that is good too. @#$%

I really don't mind the "ipads" they look better in person, but please please leave the manual control options for heating cooling, stereo, etc..
It definitely looks more refined and not raw muscle or sports car as well.
Here is a picture that I think represents what Ford was getting at with the rear taillights. Still don't like it on the newer style..

its funny just how many people hate the rear end/lights of these things. I love it, even if only for the fact you wouldnt soak yourself spraying a pressure washer at them and having it all come back at you like the S550 lol.

I get nothing but compliments and thumbs up ever time I’m out. I don’t even have a dark horse, just a GT… people generally don’t know the difference.

Ford did such an amazing job with the new S650, gonna put the whipple on this weekend

the tail lights remind me of 99-04 cars from behind, and the throwback late 60s.
Don’t even get me started on the new dash… it’s incredible, super fast tech and being able to switch gauge design on the fly is just so friggn cool.

I rarely use remote rev… but once in awhile if I’m walking across a parking lot for instance, I will… also pretty damn cool.

my dad can’t get over just how much power these make, back in his day it would take a small fortune to make 500HP…. Or even 400hp for that matter.

this is me and my friends gen2 6r80 coyote notch at the track… I had him by half car the whole run.
