I have PCCB (Carbon Ceramics) a $9,000 option on my Carrera S and my GT350 brakes are far superior.

I don't even understand how that's possible as my 911 weighs only 3,049 lbs - Voodoo magic.
Brake fluid might also be a factor. Pretty sure your CS comes with what many high end German cars come with which wont last a track session without sacrificing pedal feel.

Yah I think i'm due for a brake flush actually (2 year maintenence call for the PCCB) - I don't track it so i'm good with that - just a daily highway driver. Should improve and be back on par with the Shelby stopping power.

Interesting note regarding the brakes because I thought Z06 brakes had the highest score in MT's review following ACR beating Porsche by a large margin and gt350 scored similar to porsche. If I remember it correctly, 60-0 was 87,91,96,96 for ACR, Z06, GT3, and GT350.

So you are saying handling is on par with GT3? Thats an amazing accomplishment on Ford's part.
There is a big difference between slamming the brakes from high speed all the way down to 0 to brag about the number as they do in those tests. The more tire you have, which a vette does, the better the stopping distance. Pretty simple.

Good brakes are about stopping power, in addition to pedal feel, modulation, ventilation, pad compound, and predictability which plays an important role when you are braking on the fly on a track. Then throw in suspension forces which are not directly in a straight line from front to rear and it gets a little more complex. I can go on an on about suspension and brake technology as I have allot of experience with it, but do not want to bore you death.

I drove the very Z06 you refer to on the same track and Barber and the brakes are not as good as the GT350 brakes.

The handling of the GT350 is very, very good, but the GT3 is on another level, especially when you consider it costs $100k more. Ford used the GT3 as a benchmark when they designed the GT350 and did a very good job - you can only do so much with $100K less!

Thank you, your feedback is very much appreciated. Its very hard to find people who drove all these cars back to back, so forgive me for asking questions to you all the time:)

- Was the Z06 you drove base model or Z07 with big ceramic brakes?
- When you say GT3 is in another level, can you quantify that from 1-10, 10 being best? Handling, braking, acceleration, and sound.

You should have seen how many people would slow down and take video and pics of the Mustang...oh yeah, and the GT3!

You're my new idol! :D

And I do agree... the 991 GT3 is a whole new level. Even with the GT350-R, the GT3 is still above & beyond.... my opinion. ;)

155 on the back stretch and 167 in the GT3RS. It would be faster if there was more grip.
So you are saying you are faster on the back straight then Tommy Milner in a 2015 Z06 which barely hit 153 mph.

Apparently so. Maybe he should be driving a GT350 or GT3. That said, both of those speeds the throttle was let off and both cars had more in them.

153 mph is not a huge deal with today's high hp cars at Road Atlanta.

It was a Z06 with the Z07 track package.
