Does anyone actually know how much fast the GT350R is compared to the GT350TP and the base GT350?
I remember a graphic released by GM that showed the Z28 was about 5 seconds faster than the 1LE. Which means the 2016 1LE will be roughly 3 seconds slower than a GT350R...you know, depending on...
You could say the same about $60k high horsepower cars, but they keep churning them out.
Again, I'm not saying they'll make GT350's forever...as cool as it is. But it would be nice if I could option out a GT a little more track focused than the Performance Pack if they do kill the GT350 off...
I wouldn't even have to say they would have to be profitable if they were doing like a batch of 200 or 300 of a special car, as long as they weren't losing a lot of money. But 99.9% of the time yes, they have to be profitable.
Yes, I loved the Mach when they first came out, but I couldn't...
Hmm, I'll have to dig around on that, I thought it was always "about 5k (units)" that was the goal. Like I said earlier, the Mach was a parts bin car, so it was probably easier to up production.
I think my original statement was that if they don't keep making them, that they have something to replace it with be it another Boss or just a better GTPP.
Outside of that, I've just stated that the GT350R is the best handling and fastest lap timing Mustang Ford has made and that Ford does...
I agree it was always a planned two year run...of a total of about 10k units combined. But they ended up making quite a few more than that because they were so popular to begin with.
The segments are totally different. But if Ford decided to kill the GT350, they won't have a car in that...
I know this is the GT350 forum, but I think Ford would be good to give us a Performance Pack geared toward straight line speed with short gearing, a softer tire, maybe a Boss like intake, and free flowing exhaust as possible (catback) and on the flip side give us a Track Pack with the GT350 TP...
This.
There were two Boss 302's that set on my local lot for a bit and then one set for a few months before it was sold and both were below MSRP (I don't remember how much).
I will say there isn't a huge market for the GT350, but it is definitely larger than for the Boss. Don't get me...
No doubt on that. After a twenty minute session in the Boss you'll probably be ready for the next 20. In the GT500 you'll be ready for lunch and a nap...then the next 20.
Me too. If they continue to make it, good! If not, I hope they have something to take it's place. I would definitely buy a Boss or GT350 or a better GTPP over a GT500 or such when that time comes.
Nope.
If seen a couple sources pit the Boss and the GT500 against each other and in all three cases the GT500 finished first. I've also read a review were the Boss and ZL1 went head to head and the ZL1 was almost two seconds faster on a minute and a half course...and every review I've seen...
If I remember correctly the 2003 Mach 1 was supposed to be limited to 5k units, but it was such a large success initially that they ramped up production midway through 2003 and were producing a bunch in 2004 before they realized they had cooled off. I think they ended up producing something...
