Why do I not have a matching lower grill like in the attached picture. Mine is a 16 GT premium with PP.

Do you have the package with the adaptive cruise? If so, that's the lower grille that comes with that package (and the engine block heater, IIRC).

Wow, that is ugly. Glad I did not get that option.

 Not this topic again..... :frusty:

That lower grille also comes on cars that are going to states where the block heater is a mandatory install at the factory. The states are listed in the order guide as I recall.

My car has no adaptive cruise, but I'm in frosty MN so ugly lower grille and block heater I'll never use for me.

For the life of me, I don't know why Ford was so lazy that they couldn't have put the fangs/honeycomb around the damn hole in the lower grill.

Always wondered why some GT's got that lower grill. Glad mine doesn't, I love the way the "fangs" continue from the upper to the lower grill.

You can barely see the lower grille anyway. I feel like I'm either too close to see it or too far away to see it most of the time

It's better than Chrysler's "eyeball"...

Essentially, it comes down to permeability for the radar. If the plastic is too thick, like in a honeycomb, it will impact the operation of the sensor.

If you have ACC .. the regular GT PP lower grill will NOT fit without modification as the sensor is in the upper right side of the lower grill.

Not sure about the aftermarket grills being able to fit over the sensor or not.

We debated this like crazy back in 2014 when we were all waiting for our cars to come in... and nobody had a car yet to check. :)

For this reason, I really like the 50th Anniversary nose... no fangs to worry about!

Great. I just noticed I have this one too. Gross. Oh well, guess I'll buy that RTR lower grille to match the upper.

What?

 You're kidding right? OP is concerned because his lower grill is different from other cars with different options? Well I guess the EB and V6 crews should be apoplectic. I have the ACC and love it, as for the lower grill, I get the higher priced version I'm fine with it. :headbonk:
