About a year ago, my 2016 EB started glitching the backup camera video feed (think trying to watch Cinemax after dark as a kid in 1989). The issue came and went, and earlier this year became more constant. I finally purchased a replacement camera, and installed it with little fuss.

The USB hub and manual update to get CarPlay was only required for 2016 models - you'll be fine. Both the software and hardware were present in 2017-onwards.
