I still say, take a week of and drive it. I live in a snow bound hell, full of salt.
Can't wait to drive mine. Whats the trip, about 35 hours?
3 days considering once you start driving you won't want to stop:)
You have time to pick a decent route, get lost a couple of times.
Epic road trip, we will need pics and details :)

So I've decided to have it shipped. If I drove, I'd have to rush and that wouldn't by any fun at all. Looking forward to getting the car to California.

i drove 1400 miles and would do it again any day. The only regret is not taking a longer more scenic route. If the time allows, get a radar detector, backpack with some clothes and have a good time.

Did you decide on a carrier? Mines coming out from TX via intercity in just over 3 weeks.

Not yet, but that's about the same time frame as mine. Car should arrive at the dealer the week of 23rd.

If you have the time drive it. You should be able to stay far enough south to avoid snow. It would be an excellent adventure. Try to schedule a few days to see things that would be fun. If you have a friend or a family member that can also schedule time off it might be a blast.

Ultimately, your call. Whatever you decide will be the right call.

How does it work when you buy the car out of state and bring it in to CA for taxes and reg stuff?

Florida to California is a fantastic drive - down south through New Mexico you have some beautiful canyons. I drove my 911 from NW Florida to Colorado and back last year - epic trip in the Spring. Winter might be a bit risky not sure how the weather will be. I have an excellent transport company I can recommend if you do decide to ship enclosed trailer.

I'm planning to ship mine from Fl to CA. Was looking at using Inter City Lines. What company would you recommend?
That's the one Inter City Lines - Porsche crowd consistently recommends that company.

That's the company I used. No issues at all. They use hydraulic lifts when loading vehicles. Picked up from Jefferson, GA and delivered to Los Angeles early January. Cost was $2K. Worth every dollar.

I'm booked with intercity, should be picked up in roughly two weeks. Heard nothing but good things about them...carrier of choice for Gas Monkey.
