Thanks, I'm still getting used to seeing it with the new hood. I put 8 miles on it yesterday after the install and it was getting alot of looks. Can't wait to get it all shined up and take her out for a rip.

is there any downfalls to water from rain and washes being directly onto engine and electrical?

For me the car is a sunny day/weekend warrior so I didn't install the rain tray. I've power washed and detailed the engine bay many times as well without issues, so I don't think the water that gets in there from that will be a huge deal. But if I was daily driving the car I wouldn't do it without the tray personally.

Ok, here are a few quick pictures. Don't mind the ongoing construction in the background, I'm currently fixing up her house. The hood is definitively taller, which is noticeable from the cockpit. But the hood looks good, I may bring it to a body shop to have it aligned as it seems to sit a little low on the sides and I don't want to mess it up. The paint match was very good, I was a little worried, but I'm happy with it. The car needs a good detailing and the good needs a good buff and wax.

What option did you tick for the insert? unpainted or matte black painted?

Unpainted. I also didn't realize that it would show up looking so.....unfinished. I will be getting it painted or wrapped, haven't decided which but I'm still trying to decide on a color.

Paint matched.. not sure that would look best, but would be a first... but I think cleaned up and matte black would be best, you have matte black front and spoiler is matte black? Or go crazy matching the bronze wheels :)

Spoiler is CF, I thought about having it wrapped or dipped to achieve the CF look. I also though about bronze to go with the wheels, or maybe matte black with bronze accents on the backside. Maybe black with gold flakes. To many choices. Honestly, if they did just a touch of prep work to it, it would match the exterior plastic that is already on the car and would be fine, but you can tell it is unfinished which will drive me nuts

yeah and probably zero UV protection and it will fade more over time. painting will eliminate that.

Yes, however Cervinis sort of retained the 15-17 raised side angles from the 15-17 hood version onto the 18+ version, and cause the center extractor bump to be less pronounced and obstructs more vision from the sides away from the center vs an actual GT500.

But not as dramatic as a Cervini Ram Air Hood, that obstructs more vision earlier from the sides.

Another thing, you cant lift the wipers up to change them with this hood, they will need some maneuvering to change, cause they hit the hood when you try to lift them straight up.
