A few years ago, I was watching a BAT auction for a really expensive car and a guy commented that he was a service tech that worked on that car and that it had been involved in a bad accident and they repaired it under the radar. Everyone pulled their bids of over $1 million and the car did not sell. Come to find out the guy making the claim new the owner and they were not friends and he did it on purpose. A few months later the car came up on BAT again and because there was a prior auction for the car the same comments were there. It did not sell again. The comments section on BAT cannot just be ignored, when @Inthehighdesert listed his HEP R there was a guy that littered the comments with bad posts and his car never reached the reserve. BTW on BAT the reserve is set by BAT and you agree with it, they will not let you set any reserve you want.
The whole BaT cheerleader crap has to go. It should be limited to buyers and sellers answering questions on the car instead of hyping something up for what?

I chuckle to see many of the same people here who comment on BaT where they are not prospective buyers.

A bunch of busy bodies with nothing else to do I guess.....

So #22 and #37 up for sale about the same time. Interesting. At least with Mecum weā€™ll see what the final price is. #22 will be anyoneā€™s best guess. Will be cool to see #37 rolling down the aisle though

I agree with that - you gotta have some skin in the game to get involved - all the rest is noise! Occasional, rare occasion where it helps, but most of the time, garbage. Reminds me of a time when a guy I knew (and didnā€™t like) was selling an M3 on a BMW forum. Posted it as never tracked, never smoked in, never driven hard. Another guy I knew (and liked) was interested in buying it. So I reached out, and shared a picture of the seller, in his M3 at the track, and one of him doing burnouts with a cigarette in his mouth. He appreciated it!

Curious as to how you know who the prospective buyers are on BaT auctions and who they might have helping/representing them from a question-and-answer standpoint?

I am sure you that realize BaT generated $1.4 Billion dollars of revenue in 2023 based on their present business model with the owners/executives of BaT encouraging a forum like atmosphere during each auction which seems to be working very well for them.

Talk about chuckling, most everyone on this Mustang forum certainly knows how much you dislike the present forum like atmosphere on BaT therefore based on that scenario I suggest that you take it up with the owners/executive management of BaT as I am sure that they would like to hear all of your comments firsthand and the end result after your discussions?

As far as many of the same people making comments on BaT auctions, many of those individuals are members of this Mustang forum who have a great deal of knowledge, expertise and experience with the Mustang model which bodes well for some of those bidders that still have lots to learn.

BTW, have you ever consigned or purchased a Mustang from an in-person collector car auction or from an online collector car auction and if so which ones and how did that all go?

Outstanding and thanks for the heads up on F0037 going up for sale once again!

Back in 2016 I met and spent a day with the original of this vehicle at his Seattle location and was able to view and sit in F0037 and of course viewed the rest of his incredible Mustang/Shelby collection.

Two of the other cars from his collection that I really liked were his 1966 Shelby GT350 convertibles as he had 2 of the 4 in his collection that Carroll and SA produced back in the day.

Thanks again for posting and looking forward to seeing how F0037 does in Indy!

Hmm, I thought my statement was accurate. Same user names over there and none of them are there to buy anything.

I enjoy watching auctions, but I really don't see the compulsion to participate in one unless I intend to make a legitimate purchase attempt or have sincere interest in the vehicle.

To each their own though.

I will be watching that 2015 R for sure. I wonder, does Mecum have a cheerleader section too?

If my kidsā€™ sports schedules allow, I may head down to Indy to watch the R cross the block. Easy drive down for me and would be cool to see in person

Might make some plans as well to see it go across the block once again as I was on the block when John's vehicle (F0037) sold at Indy in July 2020 for $148,500 and of course I expect a much higher price at this coming Mecum Indy auction.

That same Mecum auction I sold F0077 for $85,800 which was a 2015 GT350 Track Pack example which was still on the MSO.

Also remember John's 1965 Shelby GT350R Prototype (5R002) selling at that same Mecum Indy auction for $3,850,000 and it was electric to be near the car when the hammer dropped!

If you make it will you be one of the Mecum cheerleaders in attendance for the sale of this cool and rare 2015 Shelby GT350R as I would certainly like to be part of the crowd?

Thatā€™s cool you saw #37 cross the block once already. I will be there cheerleading if I go, itā€™s out of my budget to actually get in on the action

That 2016 Base GT350R super rare car, 1 of 8 produced that year. No A/C, no backup camera, no BS šŸ˜Ž. Winning bidder will be very very happy !

Iā€™m hoping to get down there for Friday to see the 2015 R. Will depend on my sonā€™s baseball schedule, high school playoffs start that week. So Iā€™ll be a last minute yay or nay.
