Here is dreaded and expensive proof of the fear that sits in the back of the mind of every R owner who drives on the street, or in my case the mountains. With a new PSC2 on hand and the replacement rim is on its way - the CF OEMs will be dedicated track/show tires - and the damaged rim relegated to tall stories and garage art.
Thanks for sharing those brother. Not everyone would. At least your new setup looks damn good.

More congratulations are in order for member RCSpins . I was fortunate enough to meet Robert and get him setup with a set of SV501 for his clean Magnetic GT350. He was personally looking for something closer to the OEM style of wheel but lighter, so these were right up his alley.

Congratulations brother!
I like the wheels on your car - I believe they are SV108s? Would love to see a photoshop of these in gunmetal on a Ruby car... Possibly looking at a square set-up because of Michelin P4S sizes not available over the 305s.

Still hoping to see my DCTM steering wheel in early January...

I can’t bring you the steering wheel any faster, but here is a little something to get you going for the new year

Happy New Wheels!

Let’s start the year off right and stop buying poorly made wheels. Below are photos of the front calipers on my buddies GT350. He was running a “cheaper” replica wheel at the track with his sport cup 2 tires. Due to the lack of caliper clearance debris from the tire would get caught between the caliper and barrel. I’ve personally had an issue with a rock gouging the inside of my wheel barrel and caliper on the same set of wheels.

We spend a lot of money on the cost of our cars and performance modifications. Nothing worse than the feeling of spending your hard earned money on a modification that makes your car less capable and possibly dangerous. Don’t go cheap on the only things connecting your car to the road. Do it once, do it right, do it Signature Wheel.

Even my stock R wheels have put some light scratches on my calipers due to small pebbles being kicked up and getting trapped between the CF wheels with the ceramic coating in front and the caliper. Definitely would NOT want less clearance than stock, and prefer more. Especially on track where wheels can flex quite a lot under the loads these cars produce.

Happy New Year 2018

Finally here's a few shots taken of my SV108's and Michelin 4S's... It was on this road I grenaded my CF rim.

I love these rims!

The 4S rubber makes normal driving a breeze as they don't tram-line like the PSC2's do, however, road noise seems a little louder - could be my imagination. Haven't pushed them hard yet.

Just out of curiosity, whats the plan for the CF rims? Did you buy a replacement CF or did you get any kind of warranty relief?

Good looking wheels BTW

No warranty relief or insurance coverage (unless I want to take a point on my record for being #1 in an 'avoidable' collision).

A replacement should arrive by the 4th ($2740 delivered). I already received the new PSC2 (though I doubt the old tire is seriously damaged, I don't want to take any chances).

I plan on keeping the OEM CF with PSC2 tires for the track. The damaged one will likely go on the garage wall.

SV501's are on their way also, and don't know which track tire I'll put on those.

Car l ooks amazing!

How do the 4S rubber compare to the cups? Do you notice the slight heavier weight? Do they spin more on hard acceleration compared to the cups?

You said they definately dont tramline as much as the cups?

Can you post a pic of the tire poke looking straight down from the rear qaurter panel?

Would be interesting to take a band saw to the damaged CF wheel and look at the spoke cross section.

That's what I do. I put them in the garage and use them for the track. They cost WAY too much for regular street duty. That is unless 3K is chump change.

SV502

Here are a couple photos of the first completed SV502. Enjoy and let me know what you think compared to the SV501. I am of the impression that I wouldn kick either of them out of bed in the morning.
