For street driving do you think it’s worth it to swap the manifold?
Thats not easy to answer. If all you do is town and freeway driving probably not. If you like to wind the motor to redline probably so. I do some track days so I like the added top end RPM and power.

I did some experimenting with an 18 truck manifold and in my opinion that is the best pure street manifold made. It has more torque below 4500 RPM and carries power out to the stock 17 redline. Kind of the best of both worlds.

I watched VMP’s comparison of intakes and saw the tq gains of the truck manifold. However, I do like to wind the motor to redline so I wouldn’t want the car to fall on its face at 6k rpm’s.
I don’t do track driving, yet, but i would love to get there one day. I’d also like to take the car to the 1/4 mile one day See how it compares against the 99 Cobra and 08 Bullitt I had.

Is the gt350 intake manifold better than the 2018 GT intake manifold for power

The Shelby GT350 intake manifold is designed to provide improved performance for the high-revving 5.2L V8 engine in the GT350. When compared to the 2018 GT intake manifold, the GT350 intake manifold is likely to provide more power due to its unique design and optimized airflow characteristics. However, the specific performance benefits will depend on the engine tuning and other modifications that have been made to the vehicle.

Is the 2018 5.0 truck manifold better than the 2017 5.0 intake manifold

It's difficult to determine if the 2018 5.0 truck manifold is better than the 2017 5.0 intake manifold without more information on the specific changes made between the two years. However, Ford often makes small improvements to engine components from year to year, so it's possible that the 2018 5.0 truck manifold offers improved performance compared to the 2017 5.0 intake manifold. It would be best to consult a Ford dealer or aftermarket specialist for more information on the differences between the two components.

This chatgpt is pretty cool lol

Yea, they used a 2017 truck manifold. The 18 pulls to 6800, noses over at 7200.

It's got a stigma of being a "truck" mani, but it is a solid performer on a true street car. Stock 2017 GT tune, 18 truck mani, I out ran a 392 hemi charger in a 60 to 120 roll race. He got the jump.

The only tune changes were to make the car run with the 18 up manifold. No timing, fuel or any other changes were made.

Watching the VPM video again and I see some flaws with their analysis. First, they tested on a car with long tube headers. They also didn't make mention of a different tune for each manifold. I know you need to do a tune when going from the 2017 manifold to an 18 or GT350.
Steeda has a video showing a gain of 3 hp up to about 5,500 rpm's on a 2017 Mustang with the 18 manifold. But wouldn't they need to do a tune to take full effect of the upgraded manifold?

It seems like it's best to upgrade to the 18 or GT350 manifold if you're wanting that extra power between 6500 and 7000 RPM's.
