Hi Everyone! I'm going to do a partial Route 66 Road Trip in November to celebrate 100 Yeas of the Mother Road. I'm thinking since this is a long haul, not everyone wants to make the whole 2,000 mile trek. What I'm proposing is an East Meets West drive meeting in Adrian, Texas which is the official mid point on the Route. I will be starting in California for this drive, hitting as many of the sites along the way. If anyone is interested, please let me know here and we can plan a route that works best. If you live near Route 66 and only want to do your States portions, that's great too!

Enjoy the trip! I’ve done Illinois section before. Always a cool trip of Americana!

The mural in Pontiac is iconic. Been down that way several times and always seem to forget to stop and get pics on the mother road.

Just got home from this year’s Hotrod Power Tour. Started in Joliet, Illinois through Tulsa, Oklahoma. Great time, lots of iconic stops.
The Powertour came through Springfield as a stop on day 4. Birthplace of Route 66. With all of the hotrods coming into town it stirred up the locals and they all brought out their toys and the cruise on Kearney was pretty good! Got into a few good races last night!

done part of it in the southwest. my .02

be sure and stop in oatman to feed the donkeys and eat at the oatman hotel restaurant. make sure you have a couple of dollar bills to leave... i40 in kingman is a shitshow right now. still blasting so delays are common depending on time of day. been going on for over a year.
I would recommend staying in williams az if it works out. quaint little town with great food. november could be a little sketch around that area and into flagstaff. snow is not uncommon then. better in late september.
the train from williams to the grand canyon is a day trip and a lot of fun. cheap seat to the canyon, first class back imo...
if you stay in flagstaff take the 2 hour roundtrip drive to sedona on 89a down and 17 back. 89a is crazy pretty but 20mph and traffic laden most of the way especially on weekends. see the church in sedona. worth the drive imo.

good luck and have fun...
