Hey folks,

I’ve been experiencing a noise and feedback through the wheel when using full right lock.
I managed to get some pictures from under the front left tyre pointing up.

any ideas what the attached picture shows? my instinct reckons perhaps debris from the road, the other side doesn’t have anything like that poking out.

I’m booked into a trusted garage on Thursday, if I can ID and possibly remove this if it’s not part of the car, might save myself some ££

I’ve attached a picture from roughly the same location on the front right tyre to show it’s not there.

Hard to see what’s going on, but I think that’s the rubberised flap that should be hanging vertically downwards ?

I had a Quick Look under the nose (I’m not equipped with mudflaps behind either tyre) and I’m sure I can see the flap that site In front of the tyre but just behind the nose. Whatever is is, it’s ridged. It’s also approx in the top middle of the tyre and catches it on full right. If it’s a flap, I would love to know how it got there!

I’m pretty annoyed there’s no jack in the car as well.

The flap I was referring to, and how it should sit :

Ahhh. I see now. Is it ridged do you know? If that’s it, how could it get to be where it is?

I looked up the part you mean, it could well be this. It looks ridged.

Im not even sure how this gets fixed now? Maybe if it can get folded vertically.

I didn’t see one on the other side of the car, mind you I’m very limited with what I can actually see.

It’s like a semi rigid rubberised plastic, it can be bent, but it will return back :like:

Yes, it’s only on one side :like:

Has it had any suspension work done :

No suspension work done, however she did have a service at a Ford main dealer in feb.

I’ve been looking into this guard, I’m right in thinking that the mechanic working on my car needs to lift this guard up, similar to how it actually is, in order to change the oil filter?

I also had new tyres fitted the week before the service, but that’s a garage I trust and can’t think of any reason why they’re messing about in there. It’s a busy garage and cars are in and out quickly.

Of course this was Feb and I have zero proof. That’s my main suspicion now.

What I’m going to try and do is get back under the car and see if I can correct the angle it’s sitting at.
