See you in a salami, I guess
I made it home, so no one has to worry about ingesting me in the next few weeks.

Youā€™ll love those D5 Beadlocks. Did they come with lug nuts or will you have to source some? If so, let me know which ones you go with? The ones that came with mine are rusting on the surface. I was going to try soaking them in some CLR and see if that gets rid of most of it. If it does, Iā€™ll hit them with some WD-40 and see if that keeps it at bay.

They did come with lugs. The ones I have currently are starting to rust as well.

Oh okay. Are they the splined lug nuts that come with their own special socket?

Here are mine after a 2 minute soak and some vigorous shaking in CLR. As you can see, the soak ate off almost all of the rust, but it also had an effect on the color of them too. Not sure if they can be hit with some high gloss black paint and call it a day or what. Iā€™m going to look into this a little more. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that CLR will work.

Update: I sprayed three light coats of paint on each lug nut. Iā€™ll let them cure for 2 or more days and then see how they turned out. If nothing else, it at least buys me time to try and locate better options.

I baked them in the oven at 350* for 15 min. That really made the paint lay down much smoother than just right out of the rattle can.

Yes, they are. Both what's on the car and the one's he gave me.

Copy that. A closer inspection of the lug nuts indicates that the black coating is actually paint Iā€™m heading outside now to spray paint mine gloss black with Rustoleum 2X. Stay tuned for further updates.

Thank you! Iā€™ll keep that in mind if the Rustoleum doesnā€™t work out. I already had a can of it in the cabinet thatā€™s been waiting to be used for something.

Yeah. Thinking alumilite. But most important I'll keep the exhaust not cover to start with.
Then will see

Would be pretty awesome if you kept the measurements to be able to reproduce!
