I have lots of experience driving manual cars, but I have come to the realization that I am good at "smooth" shifting, but terrible at "quick" shifting...any good, simple tips out there, that doesn't require me to dump the clutch, power shift, etc...?

practice!

and get into racing sims(iracing, assetto corsa, pcars NOT forza and NOT gran turismo)... helps a lot as long as you got the gear to go with it. (wheel, pedals+clutch, h-shifter, proper rig to mount it all on) Plus sim racing is awesome and ALOT cheaper than race car!

I was the same way as you op. I discovered that I was over thinking it, once I just relaxed it was night and day.

What exactly are you having problems w/? Recommending shifting like you normally do, but faster, I'm sure isn't the answer you're looking for...

I agree with practice. Work hard at it and you will get better.

I'm not good at smooth because I'm always working at fast.

Get rid of that clutch assist spring ;)
Get a aftermarket shifter, as the OEM one is a known weak link
install a clutch stop

It's just like sex....in order to get better at both faster and smoother, you need to spend some time in the garage practicing with your stick.

One of my hobbies is that i play drums and i feel like shifting is also all about foot and hand coordination. You can practice your foot first to engage the clutch faster, i also hit the gym often too lol so start doing 1000 squads a day just kidding!

Practice the leg speed and then practice your shifting speed, try to use your reflexes to combine the foot and hand movement. A fast shifter can shift in half a second or a little less, automatics do it in 0.2 seconds, DSG's can shift in 0.018 seconds! So in todays technology no way we can beat an auto.
