It'll be interesting to see where GM goes this time around. With the C6, the Z06 was the highest output NA option LS7, with the ZR1 getting the 638HP supercharged LS9.

Then with the 5th Gen Camaro, the Z/28 used the LS7, keeping things NA, same output, and the ZL1 didn't the use the LS9, it used the LSA with a smaller blower for 580HP (the LSA was also used in the CTS-V @ 556HP). With the C7, including the new GS variant, they didn't release a new high[er] output NA motor, the Z06 went FI, the ZR1 disappeared!

Lots of folks assumed that part of this was marketing, to make the ZR1 a little more unique, to keep it at the top of the HP scale in GM's lineup. The thing to note, is that even if the HP output of the ZR1 and ZL1 would've been matched, with both using the LS9, the Corvette with its superior weight and drag/aero would've still been faster in almost any situation.

Now I'm wondering if they're going to concern themselves with the marketing spin, or just go ahead and use the same motor/same output, or use the same motor, but slightly detuned (like something in the 61x-62x range).

Also wondering if they'll wind up with a convertible variant like the 5th Gen, I sorta-kinda cross shopped a ZL1 convertible at one point.

There have already been shots captured of the zl1 convertible. There most definitely will be one.

....worst kept secret in the automotive world and can you get any more cartoony with the exterior styling? :barf:Nice to see the long-rumored 10-speed auto finally make it's appearance, but there is nothing here that would make me want to go out and buy one. I figure it will price right around the GT350R and put down some great numbers, but being a supercharged car, I wouldn't want to track it.
