I have a hard time believing it. Grandma in the 350 or a couple of guys filming a goof. Worth a couple of laughs at the very least.

Actually, this doesn't surprise me at all. One of the first things you quickly learn at a track day is that driver skill is way more important than the specs of the car on paper.

Two of my favorite track day videos are me getting around a 2005 Corvette in my old 2006 VW GTI, and me running down and passing a 911 Cabriolet and a 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in my measly 275 HP Boxster S at my local track. YMMV, of course. :)

I completely agree with THX138. A great example is when I attended the GT350 Track Attack program. Everyone had the same car setup. I actually lapped a guy on the final run of the day.

Everyone has different driving skill levels and for all we know that could have been that GT350R's first time on a track or even the first time for the driver to ever track a car. Or possibly the first time for both.

I'm by no means a professional race car driver, but I do think that anyone who has ever tracked a car would be pretty quick to point out the same...40% car and 60% driver ;)

Embarrassing? The point of a track day is to learn isn't it? not a surprise he's not Mario Andretti. Impressive driving by the Subaru pilot.

This reminds me of Camaro and other car owners that drive non mustangs saying they just blew the doors off a 5.0 mustang not knowing it was a V6 mustang instead. Lame.

The R was loafing around. I went in thinking that a modded WRX could potentially be fast, but that may have been a stock one. You could easily see in the video that the R has much more cornering grip than the Scooby.

Nothing embarrasing nor exciting in this vid.... it's a track day whee folks push streetcars 5/10ths to 8/10ths. Put a Spec Miata there going full tilt with an advanced driver and he'll lap everyone.
