So I bought my car 700 miles away. At the time I didn't notice the gap as much as i do now. I took it to my local dealer and they said they'd have to charge me for it and buy a new splitter. I'm not taking it back to Texas to get the splitter fixed. What can I do to fix it? Mind you I don't have a lift or access to one.

I like to disassemble things.
Educate yourself on the splitter. Study the following thread.

If the car is stored for the winter it is a perfect time to take a closer look. It sounds as if all the hardware required for a complete installation wasn't used. Try contacting Mike R at Autonation Ford in Minnesota for some great pricing on the hardware you may need.

Lucky for you, the R splitter is the easier of the two to install.

Unfortunately the car is not up for winter as it's my daily. Based on the picture used it isn't that bad. The right side has just a small gap.

F that. Put the car on race ramps or Jack stands and find out what hardware you are missing. Installing a splitter is not difficult. I did a writeup on hr361 with the particulars.

You by chance have a link to that? I'm most likely going to have to do it myself one of these weekends anyway.

Great advice.... Speed Ramps will provide plenty of clearance to correct the problem.

Fixing an incorrectly installed splitter is easy and ramps are not required, though will make it easier. I bought my car out of state and it was poorly installed and was sagging. Correcting it took about 30 minutes. I was fortunate that my selling dealer stood behind it and though they could not fix it themselves they offered to have me take it to the dealer if my choice and they would cover any costs or the option I chose which was have them order and send me a complete hardware package and fix it myself. I didn’t need to raise it any higher than a few inches so I could see underneath. The key is getting it snapped in place befit installing the screws. Look here and good luck.

Where'd you get the ramps from?

Race ramps. You'll need the extensions, or just get a floor Jack with Jack stands.

Mine was missing all 4 of the angled screws and was not seated properly. A nice solid whack with a dead blow hammer solved my gap issue. Just put a half used roll of paper towels on the splitter at the clips and whack the shit out of it. My has had zero issues since then.
The Ford install video shows this step pretty well.

I took mine in before I watched the video and they agreed to fix it but not for a day or two. I took the car home and whacked the shit out of it after I watched the video. Took it back two days later and they double checked and installed the missing hardware and it was no better than when I whacked it. I am guessing the missing hardware kept the splitter from pulling away some. But those clips that need to be whacked into submission are pretty solid once seated properly.

If your's looks like this, likely missing the angle screws that mount from the bottom. This was mine.
