Why did ford set the limiter at 6800 for the 2015 coyote? This seems really low when the boss could safely rev to 8k with near identical internals. This car SEEMS to want more when the computer pulls spark/fuel.

Different intake manifolds. The one on the Boss can breath above 7000rpm where the one on regular 5.0L start to choke around 7000rpm. Besides, the cam gear and oil pump have a tendency to grenade above 7500rpm. Also Boss has different cams I believe. Rev is nothing when you can't make more horsepower.

I know, that's what I explained to you. Your stock intake manifold starts to choke the engine above 7000rpm so there is no reason to run higher.

Oh ok Just wondering why they moved this to tuning forum? It literally has nothing to do with tuning.

It's still 7000 rpm as far as I know, I have seen 69** in engineering test mode.

The title of this section is V8 5.0L Engine / Mods: Bolt-Ons, Exhaust, Tuning

Are you under the impression a rev limiter should be in the "What wax should I use" section?
