Has anyone else noticed the rear wheel wells?
they have the same type of material thats in the trunk or
something similar. Not plastic.
the Front has plastic, noticed 3 air ducks in front wheel well.
heres pic of rear wheel well, but you have to feel it.

Yeah it's a felt material. I think besides being cheap it helps deaden the sound of rocks hitting the wheel wells.

I had a 2013 Audi A5 with that same material in the wells. I think I had another import that used it as well. May have been my '07 E550. My assumption was for sound control.

All S550 Mustangs have this material to decrease unwanted road noise.

My EX 07 BMW 335i had that, plus plastic front fenders and aluminum hood to save weight.

It's a new trend. There are supposed to be lighter, last longer, and be better with sound.
