Put down a deposit on a Z06

After a lot of back and forth, figuring out finances, and some “spirited” discussions with the wife, I’ve sent MacMulkin a deposit. As the deposit is refundable until an order is placed, I’ve got plenty of time to consider something else should I get impatient or if something else comes up in the next several years.

Yes years; I see guys waiting over 3 years before their number comes up, and if you want a Z07 package and / or aero, you might have to tack on even more time. So, I figure I’m at least on line (was told there are somewhere under 1900 on the list).

I’m willing to wait for MSRP, as $30K isn’t a small amount of cash for me to burn to get one now, and I’m still thrilled driving my GT350R. I just dont know if something else will show up between now and then that’ll have me pull out of the Z06. Unless they offer a manual, which is really the thing I’ll miss the most from the Shelby.

Honestly, from what I’m seeing these idiot dealers asking for the Dork Horse at $20K over I would absolutely pay $30K to get one now. I don’t think you’re ever going to come up in line but that’s just my two cents. Others may think otherwise. Now don’t ask me what I think of the look of the car because it’s hideous.

My son signed up for a Z06 the day they started taking reservations. He was 3471 on the list. When it came time for picking all the options, the Z06 was going to be at least $30k more than he originally expected. So, he bought a GT500 instead.

I was #23 at MM on the list for an eray - great low # and they are just starting to call to finalize a build. I have been on the list since last feb. I decided yesterday to pass on it. While the car would have been fantastic, and id probably see it this spring or sooner, in the end, the price and moreover taxes helped me to change my mind.

Good luck on the z06. I waited a year for my c8 and at one point had a deposit on a z06 but i was # 1499 in line and felt i would die of old age before actually seeing the vehicle. Hopefully they get their production #’s up.

I was actually just thinking about ordering a base 1LT Stingray Coupe 2024 with no options and MSRP is now $70K with destination, I changed my mind when seeing the price, 2 years ago base price was around $60K , Chevy is liking the high demand I guess with the big price increases. & who thinks Dark Horses are worth $60 to $70K? I do not see the price justification on those either, maybe if it had a supercharger on it would be worth that. think I will stick with GT's for now haha.

I am lucky number 1852, deposit officially accepted! I think you’ll need to be super patient though before you can see any pics though! And like I said, it’s going be years, so who knows, maybe something else might pop up.

When they first announced it years ago, starting price was claimed to be $85K…if only…….

I won’t be contacted again till I’m down to #300, which is when I can submit a build sheet. Price of entry went up $6K for MY24, so we’ll see if I need to scale back by the time my number comes up.

Congrats. Great car for the money. I just can’t get past the asthetics, just not my cup of tea. Have seen a few with some minor mods that did look really good though. The ZO6 does look mich better to me then the base’s.
