Hoosiers for These Wheels ??

Since we are close to delivery on the 19 R spec wheels, I was looking at Hoosiers last night. Looks like they do not sell the exact same sizes. 315 is Ok but no 305, have to drop to 295.

Has anyone looked at the tire to wheel well clearance on possibly using their 315/30F and 325/30R? Looks like total height is OK, but I do not know about wheel well clearance.

Any info appreciated. :headbang:

A friend of mine ran 315s on all four corners on his R stock wheels a couple weeks ago and no rubbing. That's what I will be running. The 325 won't fit out back but even if it didyou would likely have too much understeer.

Any R Spec wheel sets still available

Paul,
Are all the R spec wheel sets spoken for; and if not, what colors are still available?
If none available with this shipment, when wil you be getting them in again?

Thanks

Charlie

Crap so.... 325/30-19 tires out back on R-spec wheels are a no-no?

I posted this before but the difference from stock isn't overly significant... I have a free set of any 4 Continental Tires coming to me and I was looking at mounting the ContiForceContact (Streetable Track & Competition) with 305/30-19 up front and 325/30-19 on the rear. Continental street high-performance tires are usually rounded-edged too unlike Michelins with more squared-edges... this may help since the Contis have a little less actual width contactpatch measurements.

I can't say for certain, but he didn't think they would fit based on how far the 315s poked already. Also I was referencing Hoosier R7s and have no idea how the Contis would compare. These cars (being street cars) have understeer built into them. I am guessing a 325 out back is just going to push anyway, but that's obviously up to each driver's comfort level and preference.

What tire was used for the 315s on all 4 corners. I would be very interested in doing this for mine when they arrive. Any downside to this vs the traditional 305/315?

Also seeing how these r Specs look pretty different as far as the amount of lug protruding from the center would it be stupid or ridiculous to use a slightly longer lug nut to try and keep it more 350rish?

Some sets are being fitted with 325 Nitto Invos, which tend to be a bit undersized. Those will be for street use. My bet is a staggered 305/325 for street use would work fine, just check section width and tread width of the 325 to ensure it's not an overly wide 325. A good example of a wide 325 is the Hoosier R7, so check tire specs. The problem in going with a staggered 305/325 for track use is that setup will likely exacerbate understeer. A squared setup with 305s or 315s will be pretty neutral on track.

Charlie,

I have increased the order amount so I have a few more sets available in this first batch.

Depends on the brand of tire, R compounds are pushing it but something like the Nitto invo ya seems the 325 will work.
