Lunch!

Kind of an open-faced Philly/French Dip mashup.

Braised a 3# Chuck at 350° for 2.5 hours until tender. Sautéed onions and peppers. I was out of Provolone so shredded Mozarella and sliced Gouda on top of the bread, 450° oven until melted.

Topped with the meat and generous au jus spooned over that.

(Saturday) Sometimes it's not the food, but the location and the company ...

We stayed out late hoping to catch the northern lights (rare for the U.K.), but the sea mist / fog killed off any chance of seeing them ... :frown:

On the upside, the cider and crisps (chips ?) were really good, especially the raspberry ripple and the max strong flavours.

I know you get Walkers (Lays) over in the states, but I don't think you get the range of flavours that we get over here ?

We have baked the jalapeño and cheese crisps in the oven a few times as our home movie snack, layered up with red onion and cheddar :sunglasses:
