Since you asked: i say just go for the big kahuna and jump in for the GT500. It is worth the xtra bucks. You know you want one.
Yes. The GT500 is currently #1 on my short list for the next fun car. It ticks all the boxes, and isn't likely to disappoint in many ways as my '07 GT500 did. Definitely the alpha Mustang.

However, the Mach 1 is also on the same list. I missed out on the last one because I had my '01 Bullitt and had bought a new house. I'm looking ahead, knowing I will need to go to some sort of auto/DCT trans because my clutch knee isn't my friend more and more. If I were to go Mach, it would be a base HP car with the A10 and rear seat delete. As close to a sleeper as I can get, and I loooove sleepers. But, I have nagging feelings that it wouldn't be different enough from what I currently have versus the GT500. More usable on public roads though.

And, yes, the crazy values I'm seeing for my '15 lately are like a cattle prod to my ass....

OK, just so I make sure I didn’t make a hasty decision I’m going to look at a jet fighter gray Mach 1 tomorrow. I’ve been offered $39,000 for my car. We’ll see if it makes me feel as good as when I first got this car.

These dealers are crazy, at least here in California. They wanted $10,000 over MSRP for the car. I think I’ll just wait until 2022 when hopefully things are back to normal and maybe the car by that time we will have 500 hp like it should. Happy hunting everybody.

You could always buy one from zach@granger for 2% under invoice and someone said they will ship it for like $900.

I checked that and the only two on his website are sold. I don’t see any more Mach 1’s available. And I know we probably won’t be getting many more.

Unless they have some available that they don’t post on their website.

Wish you the best trying to find one, no, not being sarcastic. I was lucky being able to find one on the lot at a dealer 100 miles away. Had the standard blue window sticker so pretty sure that means it was dealer ordered for resale, not ordered in someone’s name. $495 admin above sticker I couldn’t argue too much with, that was before I found this website and Zack’s deal. Closer dealers were 5K and up admin fee’s.

My last Mustang was a 92 5.0, 5 speed ragtop, burgundy with white leather and white top, beautiful. 2 car seats not real practical with that set up so had to let her go. 20 years later, kids on their own, the M1 checks off my boxes, HP would have been nice but not mandatory. Dealer told me those were coming out later, not sure if truth or smoke. Went with what they had 3 feet in front of me, something along the lines birds in hand vice birds in bush.

Thanks for that back up story. I agree with you. I’m really not in the market for a Mach 1 but I will definitely look at it because who knows how close we are to not be able to get what we really want out of these cars soon. I just am not willing to pay what they want for it. I know the chip shortage is what’s doing this and the offer for my car is just ridiculously high and I might wanna take advantage of it. That’s why I’m kind a looking around.

This is crazy. I went onto Vroom and this is what I got:

... Which is more than what i paid for it in November after incentives (sticker was 52K).

Now I'm tempted.

Do it. Odds that we see used car values like this again are not very high.

That’s why I’m kinda tire kicking as well. The faucet will shut off soon.

Two others that I inquired about on Thursday at Tustin Ford to go look at Saturday sold Friday evening for $5000 over. They must have money to burn in my state but not me.
