I was under the (false) assumption that the Mustang and F150 shared the same base EB engine, but that's definitely not the case. It is odd that Ford didn't just stick the F150 2.7 EB into the Mustang and tune it to rev. That's 5.0 level power, without mods. And on the Ford website, 2.7 EB is marginally more expensive (< $1000) than the NA V6. Meaning they could easily sell you the Mustang with 375 lb ft of torque for $25k
Of course, considering that Ford can sell you a factory turbo for a marginal price increase, covered under 5-year power-train warranty, the next step is 5.0 Ecoboost, for $34-35k. Stomp the Hellcat for 1/2 price.
