We will get pulled over all the time here in Belgium, fog lights are only allowed when there is fog or heavy rain!
Don't know what the problem is with the tri-bars, you see so many cars with weird drl's these day's, although Ive seen a Volvo with fog's as drl's yesterday.

I don't understand too why they shoudln't use the tribars as DRL, in France we have such weird things on the road...

Merci for sharing. This is the first vid of an eu spec car with the premium/custom pack as far as I'm aware. I don't speak French but got that the local mustang enthusiasts were impressed. What I'd like to know is what the guy who was driving it on the track had to say?
The driver on the track is Vincent Beltoise, nephew of Jean-Pierre Beltoise, F1 driver in 1966-1974.

Here's a quick resumé:

In turns, handling is like european cars, like Porsche, Ferrari and BMW.
Before the driving, he was expecting something like a big dragster, but on the brakes, it's amazing.
It's very easy and very pleasant to place the car in corners, in fact very effective.
His last words are "I'm having fun like a kid, tell me when there are no more gas, I could go on like that for a while"

Firstly do all cars now have to have DLRs, is it a Europe wide law? like the massive door mirrors.

I thinking that maybe the US Mustang's DRLs are not allowed as they are inboard of the headlights thus not showing the actual width of the car.

I'm sure to have seen some cars, sold in Europe, with inner DRLs than the Mustang.

Tri bars don't even turn on, they just reflect the headlight beam based on what Jan has said. :frusty:

Australia had better not be like this. :paddle:

However, switching from fog lights to that small square near the indicator should be really simple, based on this screenshot from a Diode Dynamics video:



1. fog lights
2. parking lights/sidelights
3. indicator lights

If, as seems, they make the fog lights dual function, it would only be a matter of redirecting a couple of wires.

Is that the purpose of the DRL's in Europe?

I don't know if the Tri- Bars are just not bright enough but I will tell you that they do light up very bright and you can certainly see the vehicle from far away.

I heard they were deemed not EU legal due to "location/viewing angle". Perhaps the fact that they can be seen from the side makes them illegal here?
