What is car life like after the GT350R?
.
With mine up for sale I am curious what others have jumped into. Lots of cool cars out there but really not sure where to land. All the fun stuff is 100k it seems. With everything being limited availibility I have a feeling the moment I get my head set on something and I wont even be able to get it.

Sold my R (JR265) as part of plans to simplify and cull the herd a bit due to a potential move that would have restricted my car space. I ended up regretting it after a short time, as Covid hit the next year and our plans changed. We went a different direction with the future move and will now have plenty of space, so I started adding more to the stable.

Heresy-of-heresy, though, is that my current project is a pro-touring build that started with a 16k mile original owner '73 Z28. It's been a great project (including the upgrade to a wet-sump LS7 putting out 570 hp), but will definitely be somewhat cast aside when my new-to-me #14 GT350 track attack car from the Ford Performance Racing School arrives in a few weeks. Hopefully that will atone for my GM sins of late.

There's always more projects and other fun to have out there, but I find that most of mine comes from the "some assembly required" school of older stuff.

Best of luck with your search!!!!

I still have mine but strongly considering selling it. Awesome car for the track not so much fun on the street with a track alignment. The track is too expensive to do regularly with the added insurance cost. So I am considering a BAT sale as that seems to be where the big money is on the Rs.

This summer I purchased an older Factory Five MK2 Cobra with a 347 and 4 Webers that has been an absolute blast to drive and mess around with. Considering trying my hand at auto crossing with the Cobra.

That wing
Its big....
There is only life in "addition" to the GT350R, not after
This reminds me of something Master Yoda would say

That is one hell of a build man. The desire to build one definitely attracts me. Im curious how I will feel about my foxbody once its all done.

The MK2 has been a thought. I am really into the Restomod approach so I would probably ruin one with 20" wheels and such.... But a Daytona does call my name often.

Only reason Iā€™d buy a GT350R is for track - so Iā€™d love to see the track focused folksā€™ opinions.
Iā€™m debating on offloading the track purpose GT and moving toā€¦..God knows what. Anything that can keep itself cool on track, and put down decent numbers. And be fun to drive on Sundays.
Harder than it sounds. šŸ˜‘
Found an 2020 M2CompC todayā€¦..$98K šŸ˜³
Really donā€™t want to wad up $100K in a wall.
Found some used M4ā€™s for $50ishā€¦.

People are paying record prices to get a GT350R in these times. People are selling them for the same reason.

Oh and BTW, the 500s fetch a nice coin too.......

Do you want to keep the front engine, rear drive setup ? If so, I would stay away from BMW M2 C or M4. They Have the engine cooling down but not the braking in stock form. Better off with Chevy Camaro or C7 grand sport. Otherwise, a used Porsche Cayman makes for great track and street car, always see lots of them at DE events at Sebring.

Sweet. I'm actually in conversation with an original 1 owner 69 Corvette L36 numbers match 4-spd(427/390 hp) with factory side pipes that is getting a full resto as I speak. Beautiful car but that's winding the clock back pretty far.

I like the upcoming CT5 Blackwing for street duty. And thereā€™s always the ā€œhotterā€ variations of the Porsche 718.

There is no life after GT350R. No internet on the other side, so don't expect answers.

Then there's Steve McQueen's quote from "LeMans".....

"Racing (substitute 'GT350R') is life - everything else is just waiting around."
