Just installed the Kooks axle back and didn’t realize until now that you cannot select exhaust modes. It is way too
Quiet now! Does anyone have any suggestions or have experience with these below? I want sound and also be able to select driving modes. I suppose worse case stock mufflers go back on but would like to keep the Kooks seeing I just bought them

Have you checked the passenger side AE wiring harness wheee it plugs into the actuator to see if it has been knicked or damaged?

I have those Grimspeed plugs on my 350R since I have a Hooker 3" catback without the exhaust valves. The plugs work 100% fine.

But I am confused about your Kooks axleback - is it this one?

3" Muffler Section. 2015-2020 Shelby GT350. Converts Kooks X-Pipe to Full Exh. | Kooks Headers & Exhaust

If yes, I can't tell if it even has the provision for the valve. Are your servo motors installed on the new exhaust?
yup those are the ones and it does not have the valves after checking so I guess the sound is what it is. It’s WAY quieter than stock which is surprising and yes the motors are on the new mufflers.

Ah yes I seem to remember years ago hearing the Kooks mufflers were quieter/deeper than the OE mufflers. Probably because they were designed to be used with ultra loud headers and cat deletes.

The Grimspeed deletes will allow you to use the drive modes again and you can then remove the servos, too.

you’re spot on! Deep but quiet! Gotta drive it a bit more but not impressed so far with the sound.

Hope you get it figured out. That said, these are some of the best sounding cars ever produced, not sure I would have messed with that.

Previous owner of mine installed Kook long tube headers and Borla Atak cat-back exhaust. It's ridiculously loud (good for me bad for the neighbors)on a cold start. And yes, the exhaust modes are no longer available.

I was thinking about going with that setup actually. I don’t mind losing the exhaust modes if it sounds nice and roaring. I have a WRX with a Borla S-type on it and it’s kinda how the 350 sounds with these kooks mufflers. It’s deep but very mellow

I had the Borla Atak on my GT350R and it had the exhaust valves - I didn't realize they made one without the valves? As long as whatever exhaust you buy has the valves, you retain the drive modes.

It's unfortunate that the Hooker Blackheart catback has been discontinued because it is the best sounding exhaust I have heard for the 350s. It is loud but not stupid and took away a midrange harshness with the stock exhaust that bothered my damaged eardrums. They had versions with valves and without. Plus, it's 304 stainless 3" with straight through mufflers.

exhaust modes are disabled with the Borla? I was just reading drive modes available and mufflers have valves

It sounds amazing, 128 decibels on a cold start, like starting a NASCAR engine almost.

I like the sound of that just wish it was a full 3” kit so it would bolt to the LTs no problem!

I pulled the trigger on the atak as I found one on FBM for $1,000 brand new. Felt like a hell of a deal so I’ll hopefully be getting this on next weekend. Will just need to bend a couple small pieces to bolt up
