Kooks Custom Headers and Exhaust

I've got the car back! Holy Cow... The videos don't do the sound justice! We will get some go GoPro videos this weekend at the 1/2 mile race.

Can you describe the sound in a little more detail now that you have heard it first hand? I'm curious if the microphone was causing a lot of distortion?

These are a few quick pics I made when I got it on the lift in my shop last night.

The Kooks headers are a built to the same material specifications as the factory shorty headers were. Read - Heavy Duty. The headers are a true long tube design with stepped primary tubes.

You can see the brackets for the OEM dampeners just ahead of the cats. Then there is also a small section of flex tubing after the cats to help eliminate vibration issues through the rest of the exhaust.

I like the extra bracing that Kooks added to the rear section of the exhaust. And I especially like the attention to detail on the brace.

The mufflers do not take full advantage of exhaust valves. You do not have the ability to switch between "steatlhy / stock" or Rock & Roll. Its just the awesome Kooks exhaust 100% of the time. The stock valves are still used and "function" properly as far as the computer is concerned. There are no issues with the drive modes being disabled. (This could have been the BIGGEST hold up for the entire release of information Shhh... :doh: :shrug: )

Awesome dude, looks quality as expected with Kooks, can you comment on the sound? Was it distorted in the second instagram video with the full Kooks exhaust?

To me, its sounds damn good. The videos did not represent the sound quality at all.

It looks awesome. I really like the dual mode feature, but I can understand removing it for lower cost and simplicity. It may even flow a tiny bit better without it since there's not a butterfly valve in the exhaust's path.
