Why is it when everyone else dyno tested the GT350 i.e. R&T, Motortrend and alike they got 470 HP and you got so much lower? now it looks like a much bigger gain using your lower number....something is not right here...

Could be just the difference in dyno, but fair question

Smart observations... Maybe they want to show a bigger "gain". :D
On the surface that's a fair question.
However it was a 31 hp gain.

Gain is gain.

If their dyno read 471, then it would be around 30+ on top of that too.

That's not a dynojet. Mags tested on a dynojet.

It doesn't matter what dyno they performed the testing on. They did a before and after so the numbers don't lie. Different dynos will differ in numbers.

Since the before and after is the same dyno, numbers were not inflated.

Air quality, fuel quality, break in time, no two engines are 100% identical.

This. they did a baseline, tune only, and CAI tune.

same dyno, same car, new mods.

Its an accurate representation of what folks will be seeing.

Actually, most folks may be seeing more, percentage wise, as dynojets typically read higher.

Now if only JLT would do a power package with CAI, tune, and headers...

Did the tune help with TQ at all?
I haven't seen any mention of it here.

I always want to see a baseline - a real baseline. That means, run it at least 3 times and THEN do the mods, then run at least 3 times again.

I don't know if everyone is familiar with how the ECU on the Coyote acts on the dyno but the first run is almost always quite a bit lower than the 2nd and 3rd...for whatever reason. Mine went 410 and with no changes at all, made 425 to the wheels on the 2nd run.

Dyno numbers by themselves are pretty much pointless. What tells the story is the delta between dyno runs with the same car on the same dyno. Plus of course the hp/tq curve is very important to tell how the engine is making power and where. Peak numbers are just bragging rights.

I just ordered one based on this thread. Hoping I get the same results!

Hey Vinny@JLTPerformance not to hijack this awesome GT350 thread but quick question. I just ordered a replacement filter for my intake. But I decided to switch to the dry filter and I ordered a pre filter. Is there any restriction in airflow when adding the pre filter?
