Has anyone tried it?

Looks like th CJ will require lowering the motor and spacing down the subframe. Perhaps even notching the subframe and boxing it back in for oil pan clearance.

The sniper manifold should clear even the oem tower brace.

The MMR unit may be larger than the CJ, haven’t found a good side by side comparison.

This will be for an NA build, no plans for cams, FI etc.

Cortex will have a new manifold out around spring on 2018, seen some pics on FB from Sema . I talked to Filip about it and the numbers sounded promising, it will fit under the hood also, stay tuned

You just need motor mounts for the CJ to work.

Nevermind...Thought I was in the 5.oh section..

I definitely want to raise the top end torque curve on my car too. If there's an intake out there that will not compromise the mid range TOO much but kicks up top, I'm definitely interested.

I just kind of doubt Ford left much HP on the table with this engine. You might gain some upper rpm HP, but it’ll likely be at a loss of midrange/love end grunt. Meaning, you won’t likely see an overall better accelerating vehicle, and if so, probably not by much.

Well if we lived in a world of “probably not”, then we probably would not have made it very far.

You don’t know until you try. The CJ has already been tested and gains power just about everywhere..

I agree. Take for example the air box. Many companies have tried to improve performance and fell flat. Shoot, even a tune alone barely registers on the butt dyno. Butt who knows, maybe Cortex has something here.

Subscribed.

I think it’s cool people try, but we’re not talking about a low compression smog motor, but a 12 to 1 high compression, 4 valve OHC, CNC ported heads very high performance engine. Not alot of ground left to cover.

I watched the dyno comparison using the CJ manifold, I believe they concluded the stock intake had an overall advantage, only losing a few HP at the upper end of the rpm band.
