Empty roads on the way to work this morning and decided let my steed stretch its legs...j/k... that's pretty douchy..

But seriously, empty roads due to Easter holiday and as the needle passed 160, my window seal gave out with a pfssst. I guess the differential of pressure was too much. I could hear the air leaking out and it didn't seal up again until I got down to 110 or so. It got me thinking that there may be other things that aren't ready for higher speeds beyond the stock limiter. For anyone that has run their car beyond 150, is the car, especially the plastic parts up to the task or should some precautions be taken?

Havent had that issue at 160, not even on aolder 08 at 185, so I dont think the plastics and such are limited, hennesey took their s550 up to 200+

There's a shit ton of road and wind noise when the needle gets into that area. I haven't had any seal issues, but I've head of the Pony Projectors falling out at high speeds.

isn't the speed rating of the Mustang GT 150 ? If you add margin of safety, maybe 140. I would start by investigating the tires. Blow out at that speed would be bad.

If the OP has the OEM Pirelli P-Zeroes on his PP, they're rated to 186mph. Of course, this is if they're in good operating condition and at proper PSI.

Maybe he's talking about 160 kph, not MPH? That's 100MPH. Hell, I hit that on freeway entrance ramps if I'm not careful.

Nah, I'm sure it's mph. The main speed limit on the Autobahn's in Germany is 130kph, which is around 82mph, if I remember right. There's nothing really remarkable about doing 160kph...98% of cars on the road can do that.
