Car
Happy to try things like the throttle body and charcoal canister etc but a little logic/testing before I through money at it would be nice. Im open to trying everything though. If I were to guess it would be related to the 02 sensors but I was told that I can be fine without the downstream ones. Anyways Please help!!!
- I have a 2016 mustang GT with a Vortech v3 supercharger on it tuned by lund.
- I have left and right upstream O2 sensors, but no cats, and O2 sensors. The only codes I have are for the missing downstream O2 sensors.
- I have 3 inch long tube headers with an X pipe that goes to a 2 1/2 inch stock GT muffler (I had a uniform, 3 inch exhaust prior and the issue was still there
- I have 140,000 miles (a lot of highway miles) on the car which is a lot but the car was only supercharged in the last four years/no more than 10,000 miles
- I have two JLT catch cans and a breather on the intake
- Attached is a video of my idle bogging consistently and its on youtube here.
- When I drive, the car never shuts off from the idle stumbling, but there will be hesitation, and that's the real reason why I want to fix this otherwise, the idle wouldn't really bother me. I have a feeling that they're connected but there's a chance it's not.
- The idle fluctuation is constant through all rpms because my friend has a code reader, that can set the RPM and my car will consistently bounce between the set rpm.
- I did an extensive vacuum leak check with an automotive smoke machine multiple times with no indication of a leak. (Have videos)
- I did an extensive vacuum leak check on the exhaust and that is all fixed up now especially the areas near the upstream O2 sensor. (not a single leak in the whole exhaust except for the water weep hole at the muffler)
- I changed the spark plugs and make sure they were gaped to lunds recommendation
- I replaced the mass airflow sensor with no result so I put the old one back in
- I changed the purge valve with no results so I put the old one back in
- I changed the fuel sock, even though it wasn't dirty at all
- I fixed the IRC intake, runners, and lock them with the tune to reflect that
- I changed all 4 vvt solenoids
- I replaced both O2 sensors and that helped with the hesitation a lot, but not the idle
