I've seen this before. There is something really weird about the proportions of this image. I think it's the fact that they used the same rear wheel on the front as well and they look identical, but wouldn't on a real car.

That's because there has been no thought on the matter. It's simply a fun rendering done by a fan. Nothing more, nothing less.

If a DTM Mustang were to ever happen, there wouldn't be a single part shared with your road cars. DTM cars are now basically a the level where you could say they're akin to an LMP1 car with a full body on it.

When I was sationed in Germany I always strived to watch the original DTM series,
