I will warn you of this though. 3 of the 4 have chips in the powder coating. They are getting me another set. Just be warned if you order them online.

As I mentioned a few days ago regarding the GT350R Red calipers, they are cheaper then I expected. I was going to remove the calipers from my GT350 track pack and powder coat them but the R calipers are not that expensive and less down time. Here are the part numbers and list cost. Less if you get a discount at the dealer.

Front calipers:
FR3Z 2B120-G $344.37
FR3Z 2B121-F $344.80
Bolt kit W717394-S439 $24.00

Rear calipers:
FR3Z 2552-F $251.68
FR3Z 2553-F $251.72
Bolt kit W718407-S439 $12.00

They require a $50.00 core charge per caliper or pay the $200.00 I'm keeping my original GT350 black calipers and storing them.
Are the bolts covered in their favorite dry blue Loctite? We had to scrub it off with a wire brush and use anti-sieze to keep them from welding themselves to the aluminum calipers during track use. The excess Loctite was contributing to stripping out the calipers after several rotor swaps. Once I removed it and switched to the anti-seize I didn't have any more issues. It would have been nice if they used a threaded steel insert to help with that, but I'm assuming the OEM units are all aluminum again? I haven't pulled mine to check yet.

I'm so glad they opted for the iron rings and didn't go with carbon ceramic. The consumables on this car are going to be extremely affordable........the reason I track a Mustang and not a P car ;)

I'm really good friends with the head of service at my local dealer so I'll buy from him. OEM is the only way to go in my opinion but it sucks that 3 were chipped. I will check for sure.

You think we could upgrade GT brakes to this?
Of course it's possible, but you might need to swap out the master cylinder and of course you will need a different bracket for mounting the calipers. I assume the larger GT350 calipers will need a larger volume of fluid to actuate them. I would also be a little concerned about the ABS system from the GT functioning properly. I suppose you could choose to delete the ABS system, which might require some programming knowledge.

All in all, IMO not worth it. The brakes on the GT are already really good.

Really nice Voodooo!
Love it! Powder coating them yourself would be a lot of trouble and I'd be worried about warranty issues. I guess you could use G2 to paint them yourself, but buying OEM would hopefully mean no warranty issues or paint chipping or wearing off.
I'll have to reach out to the parts guy at my local dealer, once my GT350 arrives and see if I can get a deal like this.

The bolt kits are only showing as 1 Bolt per kit. We would need 2 bolts per caliper, correct?

Front calipers:
FR3Z 2B120-G $344.37
FR3Z 2B121-F $344.80
Bolt kit W717394-S439 $24.00

Why would you not just use the bolts that came on the car? They're not stretch bolts or anything as far as I know.

Ford lists them as one time use. I assume it's due to the Loctite and for liability reasons. If you use a new bolt with preapplied Loctite and torque to specs, it's not coming loose. If you're going to track the car and swap rotors frequently (and regularly checking torque on them and suspension bolts) you don't need to replace them every time. I generally used new bolts on every other rotor swap.

I haven't looked close, but wouldn't the new ones be red?

They're on the inside of the wheel (i.e. facing the engine). Who cares? :)

Even if the head of the bolt was painted red, it probably wouldn't be for long considering you have to torque them on and off for every pad change.

Shoot! I haven't looked at these Brembo's that close... I thought we had the ones with pins to remove the pads. My other car has an older set of Brembo's that do show the two bolts, but those don't need to come off for pad changes.

The bolts are zinc coated. They are one time use according to the service manual. But I don't see any reason why you can't reuse them. The front calipers have a bridge, they need to be removed to replace the pads.

I wonder if they say that for the GT Brembos as well. I just threw some loctite on my Boss's bolts and called it a day.

I wouldn't sweat it. You'll be fine reusing them.
