Getting a VIN what's the big deal?

I always wondered why everyone got so excited and posted their VIN numbers. Well I just got mine today and can see what all the excitement was about. After waiting 7 months this is the first mile stone that I have reached in months. I guess now I can start to track the real progress.

Can I ask what 718 is born means? and if you just got your VIN, how did you get this number? I'm assuming its your glove compartment plaque number? yes?, or chassis # please explain..thanks

The number your going to need to give to ford is 4718.

Called Ford Performance today and they said mine is scheduled for April 25 production. At least it is not going to be built on a Friday!!

my serial ends in 606.Just spoke to svt this morning and its on a train that broke down in battle creek.ETA was april 8....
