I had to stash my GTO in a high rise parking garage in 05 for Ike. It was locked in there for a few days while the power was out but that was fine since the streets were jacked up. But the car was perfect and well worth the $80 they charged me for three days.

Good luck SFLA!

My wife and I certainly feel for all of the people presently located in Florida and along the coastal locations of Georgia and South Carolina during this catastrophic event.

We live in Aiken, South Carolina (not far from Augusta Georgia) and even though we may have an elderly couple coming to stay with us from Hilton Head this weekend (evacuees) we are happy to open up our home to another family from this forum that cannot find accommodations/shelter up this way.

Sleeping arrangements may come to sleeping on couches, air mattresses, etc. but will do the best that we can.

If the elderly couple decide to ride out the hurricane and not come we may be able to take an additional family in but will not know anything until later today.

PM me with your contact information and we will do what we can to help out a family in need!

;)

Good luck to you guys. My uncle just moved over there from CA, so this is all new to him. Luckily he built from the ground up properly and has other family and friends to help him out.

make sure to disconnect your battery, sometimes your car can survive without major electrical issues by doing this. Sometimes if water gets barely up to your doors it can still short out some things depending on how they did the wire harness.

Prayer for those in Irma's path. Harvey was bad near here; Irma looks like it could be as bad or worse.

Good idea to park in an elevated reinforced-concrete structure!

It's now a Cat 4 tracking right up the center of Florida! Wind speed in excess of 150mph. Winds in the eye...even more powerful. My daughter survived BVI Tortola Cat 5 but the Island was basically levelled!!

This will definitely be catastrophic ....something Florida has never experienced. I hope the Stang makes it....but this thing is wicked! Hope you and your family are safe...yes, disconnect your main house breaker as well. Electrocution is common with floods!!! Batteries, water and food supply is a must!! Do not go outside....the killer will be flying debris!! I don't mean to scare you but this is the real deal man! Be safe. Thoughts and Prayers being sent to all who stayed.

This pic was taken yesterday in Tortola.
