What about using ethanol free fuel with Octane Booster ?

---XDT
That will work well with both MPG and power, but in the end it won't have the cooling effect of the ethanol (which is minimal in E10 but quite a bit in E50+).

What gasoline are you working with and what mods?

2017 CS / GT Premium, all stock with exception of opening up the air intake they the grill (radically lowered my intake air temp), and added a K&M drop in OEM A/F. Ethanol Free "Puregas" available locally is 89, can get 20 about 20 miles away. When I use RFF and OB, my mpgs get slightly better. My concern is that the Eth in fuel at the pump (I have heard) is not pure (99+%) alcohol, but can be as high as 20% water. Is this true ? Also, have heard about people adding O2 injection at the intake, to get a more volatile, and cooler air component in the A/F ratio. Any truth to this ?

Thanks

Tim

In Canada all Shell 91 octane gas is ethanol free. In Ontario the Costco 91 is ethanol free. Now that I am in Maryland no ethanol free fuel for me :(

try marine supply pumps. If you're >50 miles from DC you can possibly find Ethanol-free stations, typically only 87 though. eg. several in Winchester VA and some southwest of Fredericksburg.

there's a map for various states. Call ahead and confirm if/what they still carry.

Yeah, this being a big boating area, there's a ton of ethanol free pumps at gas stations.

Side note: it's my understanding you're supposed to run as E free as possible for gas generators and/or not let them sit with it for long periods, I've run regular ol' pump 87 in my previous generators, but this was a big thing last hurricane, lots of people lined up specifically at the E free pump, filling cans, for generators.

if you store fuel, you want Ethanol free. Stabil alone doesn't necessarily cut it. If you run E10 in a generator, just drain the carb bowls and tank when you're done.

Or run it empty and as running empty. I do that with my generator when I use it.

Yeah, that's what I did, the couple of times we've needed the generator, we ran it totally out of gas before putting it away. Lasted a long time, so I guess that worked well enough.

Just realized you were in Fl.

I go to St Aug and Jax a lot for events from Central Fl.

Do you get out and about much?
