Whoa. As someone that followed the factory fender vent effort by Ford designers (that was killed after three iterations) rather closely, all I can say is YES!

Nice job delivering what the factory couldn't.

I believe when Jamal and Raj were still there the vents had a great chance of actually becoming a reality, just what the design team had in mind. A few different design and prototype variants...

The idea is to remove or reduce turbulence, reduce front end lift, and provide a smoother exit instead of a 90* wall. You can see the airflow into the wheelwell and how it gets a bit messy exiting in the following shot...

Anyway, I believe after Raj and Jamal were gone, it was decided to not do them. I was told they were tested to verify airflow improvement and that they worked. I don't know exactly when they were killed but this black car was spotted on the grass at an IMSA race in the summer of 2018 and they were clearly no longer part of the program. Barely anybody noticed the car. I knew immediately what it represented.:)

So this is great to see Anderson making these available. They were part of the original vision and I've always thought the car deserved them.

I thought Ford nixed it because it didn't offer any performance advantage????

Even Billy has commented that they provided a benfit on the car when tested, IIRC.

I was told by someone involved in the program that it had to do with difficulty of installation on the line (for whatever reason, pre-installation on a given fender was not an acceptable solution), hence 3 iterations. The last version was apparently so watered down in order to make its install quick and easy that it was agreed upon to kill the idea when time came to shit or get off the pot.

I would like to see some painted to go with the car to see how they look.

Ah... OK. I would get some, but the thought of them arriving damaged and going through all that again.....

I inquired about liner mods done by Ford engineering and never got a clear answer on how far development got of any frame or bezel that would tie the liner in with the louvered opening.
