2016 GT350 - Ordering ...
Hi Folks -

I just got the call that I have an allocation to order a GT350R. I'm still kinda in shock. I've had BMW M3s, M5s for about the past 14 years. Now it's time to try something else.

I currently have a 2015 M3 that I really like but I don't love it. I think I will love this car. I usually change cars pretty quickly but I really think I will hold on to this one. An instant classic I believe.

I am going to call the dealer tomorrow to hopefully go ahead and order. I'm thinking white with a black roof and black racing stripes.

This is going to be a fun process and I look forward to spending some time on this forum with you guys.

I don't know if you're 100% sold on the white, but with the black top and black stripes, you may want to look at some pictures of Avalanche Gray. It will be a light color with a similar look, but that color is specific to the GT350. It will completely set it apart from other Mustangs.

It's also the only color that's specific to the GT350. Any color you choose though, I don't think you can go wrong. Congratulations!

I recognized your name from Bimmerpost. Your M3 is absolutely gorgeous!! For those curious...http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1122394

I'm interested to hear what you like and don't like about the M3 as I'm still considering an M4, however I'm leaning heavily towards the GT350. :D
Thanks!

I also considering white with classic blue stripes as well. I thought about AG but I'm afraid it will look like gloss primer. I wish I could see some of these combinations in person first ...

IMO here is the run down

1) DIB is the most photogenic of all the colors in photo and video
2) RR looks great in photos and video and is very very close to its color on film. 3) AG looks dull in photo's but in the right video looks very good., but in fact I have seen the GT350 in person in AG and the car is stunning, and looks very classy, and the photos and videos do NOT do it justice. The Yellow looks great in photos and videos but still have a different look in person. White looks better in person ..some photos make it look so bright to can not see the body lines but in fact you can see them very well...white is classy but scares me as I want a little more POP...personal taste...what ever color you go with you can not go wrong..

I think it will be similar to BMW Alpine White, just a little darker. Does Avalanche Gray have any metallic or effect in it, or is it a solid color? I can't tell from the pictures I've seen, but I'm thinking I saw one close up that it looked like it had a little metal flake in it.

Just can't get enuff!
The BMW Individual color Fashion Grey is close to AG. I also prefer the GT350 over the F80/F82 M cars.... nothing bad about them (and as a previous owner I'm also a fan of M series) but the new FPC Shelby is just more desirable IMO.

Dobson,
You have to admit the GT3RS was a great car. I hade the Orange with black strips. After a few Ferrari and 2 Lamborghini (including a 6.0) the RS was one if not the best car I have ever owned. Not sure the GT350 will be able to match up to that car.
