Best and Worst Mustang designs of all time

As there are several threads recently on the S550 design, I thought I'd put this one out there. Based only on stock looks, what are your favorite Mustang body styles of all time? Worst?

What say you?

My own list is just slightly different than yours.


Best (low numbers best):
1. 1967/68 Fastback
2. 1969 Fastback/Convertible
3. 1970 Fastback/Convertible
I think there are others that look good, but I wouldn't put them in a list of the tops. For me some of the older coupes are good looking, I like the '65 and '66 style - just not enough to put in the best list, the 2010-2012 look good, 2015+ look good, I like a good Fox body as well.


Worst (Higher number is best, marginally...):
1. 2005-2009 - I liked them when they first came out, now I think they look very dated.
2. 1999-2004 A slight improvement on the 1994-1998, but still UUUUGLY!
3. 1994-1998 Absolute worst Mustangs built IMO from a styling standpoint.

People will say the 71-73 and Mustang II should be in the worst, but there are some cars with the right options and right colors that look really good IMO. Definitely not best looking, but also not worst.
