Best and Worst Mustang designs of all time

S550 is my favorite, but not favorite looking. Close.
69-70 was the best looking ever, but like all older Mustangs, drove like a pig.

The Mustang II was by far the worst.
The 71-73 was inexcusably fat, the coupe and convertible were ugly. The Boss 351 was awesome.

My unpopular opinions include I don't like S197s, never bought one. Foxes are fun, but they have always looked like boxes compared with most of the other generations, especially the convertibles. And I like SN95s a LOT better than I like New Edges, though I have owned both.

My Top 5 Best Looking:

The best looking and my idea of what a Mustang is.

It just looks big and brawny, like a muscle car should. (if only there were motors that complemented the looks at the time :lol

It's like a modern '67-68 Mustang, that instantly makes it awesome to me.:love:

Retro done right. The '13-14 cars had the wrong front end, stealing it from the GT500, but the taillights were the only physicl improvement.

I was born in the 90s, It's one of few 90s designs I actually enjoy looking at.

The only truly ugly Stangs IMO:

The earliest Fox Bodies ('79-83) just looked weird to me.

It looked good for the time, but it just hasn't, nor will it ever age well.

The 71-73 were barges. But they were sexy barges. People complain about the rearward visability of current Camaros have never driven a 71 mach1.:eyebulge:

Nothing beats the 66 K code GT fastback/GT350 and my vote for worst.....71-73...... Dog dick ugly.....the only thing that puts that ugly in front of the Mustang II is the 351 Cleveland.

S550 is number 1 for me, followed by SN95 because my first mustang was a 96, and I especially loved the Saleen treatment of them. After that, 64.5-69 era. Not a huge fan of the fox body, and definitely not the Mustang II.

I must be the only one that liked the SN95 bodystyle........I LOVED the big fat back fender wells of my '98 SN95



The New Edge body style was the ugliest IMO.

Another fan of the SN95! I owned a 94, 95, and 98 (not necessarily in that order).

"It is what it was" I remember that commercial SO well!
