There is no way the 500 will msrp for 70k, this is not the mustang way. And why would anyone listen to a sales manager. I could be wrong but in my experience of 23 cars from one dealer the sales manager is usually 99% wrong.

Maybe with ADM, it will get to that price range.

I'd pick an updated GT500 over the GT350 all day long and twice on Sundays.

That said, I think it's going to be quite a bit more expensive than the GT350 is, probably out of the price range I'm willing to consider. My '14 GT500 was over 64K (Electronics Pack, Performance Pack, Glass Roof). JMO, but I think the next one will be over 70K.

And that's why the 350 is a bargain. I have owned 6 gt500s and they were all low low mileage used for a fraction. I just saw a 2007 white 500 with 1700 miles on eBay for under 39 and I love that style. At 70 with an additional adm id rather buy a used SuperS. Don't get me wrong when the 500 comes out with anything like the styles drawn I'm going to want one but over the 75, 80 range with adm I'll keep my 350.

Me crazy, and I can't help myself
For me the HP race inspired by the hellcat, GT500, and Z06's become a bit of a d!ck measuring competition. Its a marketing tool to sell to the masses, people need numbers to latch on to and HP is an easy one. I'm not saying HP isn't important but its only one component of a vehicle that makes it great. My interest in the GT350 was piqued by the HP/NA/FPC information but i didn't really get excited until i started to read the first drive reviews and people were talking about the car in its totality and how special it was.

I will be the same with the GT500, if it can be more than just a 750hp twin turbo car i would definitely give it some consideration.

Unless you're a hardcore dragstrip guy, I don't see the point beyond bragging rights.

Been there, done that.

I bought my '07 GT500 vert in early summer 2010 for $35K. Other than the power (pullied and tuned) I sorta hated the car, honestly. Handled like a turd, horseshit build quality, but was a hoot in a straight line....until you hit roughly legal speeds and had to quit. Traded it on a Jeep DD. My lowly '15 GT is a much better ride all around.

To me at least, the GT350 pushes all the right buttons if you have to have 'that' name on the decklid. I really am not obsessed that way. You can only really use so much power before it's just a penis car, IMO.

Dont think I'm interested in a 500. Not unless I feel the urge to build a Tx mile car out of one.

I think I'd just kill myself on a road course with 200 more horsepower in the same platform and I'm not a drag racer.

Absolutely interested, but not at all desperate for the car.

GT350 is the one for me. Not interested in forced induction.

As one other mentoined, the C7 GS would be my next upgrade, or a Viper/911 if I was willing to find that kind of money.

My ideal mustang would be the current gt350 with 530-550 wheel hp and 500 pounds lighter. As of now I have removed 102 pounds from my car and have an estimated 600 crank hp. I plan on Recaro profi spa carbon fiber seats and to drop about 60-70 pounds more from the car.
If ford would just make a 7/8 scale version that would be sweet. Also make the front control arms from aluminum and the rear differential, rear IRS cradle and doors all of aluminum that would remove a lot of weight and give the perfect balance!

I'll look at it, and probably get one. Not selling the R though.
