Anyone else have factory exhaust clamps start to rattle?

I have tightened it down a few times and the rattle comes back. Probably going to need some new ones. They aren't cheap at $98.00

Have you torqued them to spec? I think it is 35 ft lbs.. Never seen them come loose.

I think the driver side one is bad. I got them with an impact wrench and it still came loose.

I torque mine to 75 ft-lbs and they never loosen until I loosen them myself.

One of mine came loose and it sounded like I had a rod getting ready to let go. After about 2 minuets of run time the sound went away. Took me a bit of time to find it, boy was I relieved. LOL

I think they torqued it down with an impact wrench and ruined it.

Could be the flex pipe as well, those go bad and rattle all the time on these cars.

Good info thanks. It's the driver side clamp though. As I tighten it and the rattle goes away and comes back soon after.

Have you tried using loctite on the nut when you tighten it? Might keep it from loosening again and it's cheaper than a new clamp.

If it's anything like the aftermarket clamps. Mine kept coming loose time and time again even when torquing the spec blah blah blah. Simple fix. Breaker bar and tighten the living shit out of it. Haven't had any come loose for a couple years now.

Here's something you can try that worked for me. Loosen the two bolts on each connecting pipe sleeve, bump them forward so the metal clips aren't making contact with the stop posts welded to the actual pipe. Tighten the two bolts on each sleeve back up. Bet that rattle is gone. I found that those metal clips were vibrating against the pipe or those welded posts and after doing the above, they immediately quited. I'm thinking of putting on sleeves without those lock tabs all together.

Thanks, sold the car. Not because of this though.
