A couple interesting data points is that with 5k Miles on the oil the oil life meter said I was at 25% of oil life before the change.
The oil life meter in these cars isn't tied directly to the odometer. It also incorporates rpm, throttle input, oil temp, etc. The life meter drops like a rock if you constantly beat on it

just a datapoint for time/mileage/usage and the reported 'lifespan' of the oil.

It is a good thing to know. Every oils mileage life is based on normal driving habits. Extended high rpm operation will always lower the expected oil life. Some oils are better than others at dealing with Viscosity loss and oil shearing but generally you want to change your oil more often than the recommended interval the harder you are on the car. Just like with track days, it’s always a good idea to change it right after

I have the 2019 Bullitt and have also switched to 5W 30, Quaker State Full Synthetic with the Ford Racing Filter. I have also noticed the oil pressure gauge going off the charts and nearly 100 psi at 5,000 rpm. If you want to read an interesting evaluation on oils and protection to to: https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/ this shows the amount of pressure in psi and high temps before oil failure. The new Quaker State Full Synthetic is number one. Amsoil also scores very high. This blog does not accept advertising and has no connections with the oil companies. A lot of big name oils perform poorly at higher temps. Good Luck

As the Mach1 calls for a 5w30 and is the same engine (+more cooling) i would go for its oil +spec. Although my service center recommended sticking to the original 5w20.
So unless some new recommendations are released ill stick to it... until the 5y warranty is over. :D

Not me. Changed to 5W30 for my 2020 Bullitt. It’s the same engine as the 2021 Mach 1. Ford would have a difficult time not authorizing a warranty problem based on anyone using 5W30 oil.

If the 5W-30 is listed your owners manual as an alternate oil for you car, your fine.

Anyone notice any vct solenoid problems after the oil change?.
they run on oil pressure and if pressure is higher you may notice ignition advancing better ?.

Could have started a new thread.

Anyway yes the VVT system works better with higher viscosity oil. This is one reason Ford uses 5w-50 in the race cars.

Thanks
Only cause I seem to get some intermittent rattle on my VCT solenoids and the car sometimes runs I wouldn’t say rough but just a little less responsive. Suddenly no rattle and it’s perfect.
Using 5w20.
Do you think I would benefit more from 5w30?.

5-30 won't hurt anything and might help. I personally use 5w-40
